FRESH THE MOVIE

FRESH is more than a movie - it is a gateway to action. FRESH is about food, ideas and most importantly about people. It’s about people becoming active participants in their community. Participants in an exciting, vibrant, and fast-growing movement. The movement towards healthy, sustainable food.

FRESH is a grassroots effort for a grassroots movement. It is a movie being used as a platform to raise awareness and connecting people to the solutions available in their community.

Those of us already connected with FRESH truly believe it can help get us to a tipping point, when sustainable food will no longer be just a niche market.

Be inspired to spread the word and make healthier choices around your food.

Come and enjoy the movie; hear from local food entrepreneurs eating, growing and selling healthy, sustainable food; taste the goodness of what this movie is all about.

Creating a perfect ghee is a sadhana-a simple and meditative practice for healing and nourishing the body. Ghee is used in Ayurveda to transport food, herbs and spices to the deep tissues and to bring glowing health to the organs and to the mind. Ghee is nourishing to all seven dhatus or tissue layers of the body and when herbs or spices are added it enhances the benefits of both. Ghee increases the digestive fire Agni and improves absorption and assimilation. It nourishes ojas, the subtle essence of all the body's tissues, strengthens the brain and nervous system, and improves memory. It lubricates the connective tissue and makes the body more flexible.

Spice Mistress Glynnis will guide you in making a basic ghee and an Ayurvedic spice blend to use in the ghee as a special rasayana or rejuvenative. Bring a mortar and pestle if you have one. There will be some available for use. This is a hands on 'Wise-Earth' practice to familiarize yourself with Ghee and the Ayurvedic spices so you can create your own kitchen spice apothecary for vibrant health. Each participant will take home some ghee and masala. Bring a small glass jar for your ghee. (about a 1/4 cup/50ml)
